A Day in the Life

   This fanfiction contest is for you to explore someone else’s character! Wait, what? Did you really, just read that? Why yes you did! This contest is a character swap!

   Participants should talk together, decide which characters they want to write for, and then post their entries in the same thread back to back. Each participant should only have one partner and one entry—-sorry, but we’re not accepting group entries this time! Just pairs!

   Each participant should write one story with their partner’s character. The theme past that is open, though we encourage pairs to use the same situation/theme for their stories. All stories should be between 500 and 1500 words. (*Please don’t assume someone wants to be your partner. Ask, then write for their character!) Characters should be present active accounts on the boards. (No future or deleted characters in this contest please!)

   Again, only pair-entries can be entered in this contest for judging or participation. Each member can only participate in one pair.

   To enter this contest, please post your story in its own thread in the Fan Fiction forum. Have your partner post their story directly under yours, and then post a completed version of the entry form in the contest thread. (If you choose to post a story with this theme and not enter the contest, please PM Sabbi with the entry form so she can give you a participation award.)

Something had woken her early, but after laying there in there relative quiet of her London flat until her alarm did go off, she figured that it was nothing of import. Perhaps Fay or Monroe, one of her cats, had jumped off her bed, or some disturbing aspect of a dream had flitted past her closed eyelids. The brunette stretched, letting out a tiny squeal as her toes curled, and then rolled out of bed, ready enough to greet another morning.

You Seem Familiar

   This fanfiction contest is to explore what would happen if two of your characters met. While you’re not allowed to RP with yourself (excepting NPCs, of course) on HPRPG, we’d like to see the chaos that would happen if you did! What would happen if two of your characters met? What circumstances would have to happen before such universe-twisting paradoxes could occur?

   All stories should be between 1000 and 3000 words. Each story should feature two of your characters (by themselves, preferably, though minor background characters would also be okay.)

   You may write and post as many stories as you’d like, but please keep each story focused on only two of your characters. (If you have more than two characters and want to write about both of them, please write separate stories for each pairing.) Only one story can be entered in this contest for judging though, so pick your best out of any your write! Characters featured can be your current, active characters, deleted characters, future characters—-whichever, you pick! (Please do make sure both characters are HP-universe based characters though. Laser guns aren’t good with firsties.)

Oh turds. “Are ye alright?” Whitney asked, peering down from his six-foot-five vantage at the pipsqueak that had just tried to use him as a door. Someone was delusional, that was for sure.

Where It All Began

   This fanfiction contest is to explore your character’s history, specifically the time they received their Hogwarts letter or the time when they showed their first manifestation of magic. What happened on that long ago, fateful day? Did their family take it in stride? Did things explode? Was there glitter?

   All stories should be between 1000 and 3000 words using one of the two previously mentioned scenarios. (Receiving a Hogwarts Letter or First Sign of Magic.) Each story should feature one of your characters and whomever was around when the scene took place.    This fanfiction contest is to explore your character’s wants and desires, specifically what their dream vacation would be like! Where would they go, who would they travel with? How would their traveling companions act? What would the weather be like? Dive into your characters wishes and dreams and write a story in their dream vacation scenario.

   All stories should be between 1000 and 3000 words. (Stretch your descriptive muscles!) Each story should feature one of your characters and whomever they’re visiting or traveling with. (*Please ask other drivers for permission to use their characters in your fic before you post it, if you decide to use other HPRPG characters.)

   You may write and post as many stories as you’d like, but please keep each story focused on one of your characters.    This fanfiction contest is to explore your character’s home life, specifically how they eat when they’re not at school. Everyone’s forced to eat in the Great Hall at school, but how is food served in your character’s house? Do they participate in large family meals where younger siblings show trainwrecks regularly? Do they eat by themselves in front of a book or telly? Do they even eat-in, or do they go out to eat?

   All stories should be between 1000 and 2500 words. Each story should feature one of your characters and whomever they’re eating with. (*Please ask other drivers for permission to use their characters in your fic before you post it, if you decide to use other HPRPG characters.)

   You may write and post as many stories as you’d like, but please keep each story focused on one of your characters.
