”When I tried to make cookies last week I almost blew up the oven somehow. Too much bakin’ soda maybe? There was runny cookie dough everywhere!” He motioned with both hands to indicate the scope everywhere encompassed. “And then the dough stuck to everythin’ and hardened before I could get it all up—-I haven’t had to scrub that hard since the beginnin’ of the month when Mum made me go at the bathrooms. I can’t imagine w’at they would have tasted like if they had somehow made it out of the oven. So ye can stick with makin’ the cookies and I’ll make ye chicken with cheese. How’s that sound?”from Don’t Tell Me You Don’t Know Or would they be Serbia’s Cookies..? Whichever. xD
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Makes: ~3 dozen
Ingredients:
1 1/2c packed brown sugar
1c butter or margarine, softened
1t vanilla
1 egg
2c quick-oats
1 1/2c all-purpose flour
1t baking soda
1/4t salt
12oz semisweet chocolate chips
1c chopped nuts (if you’re a nutter)
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350°F. Beat brown sugar and butter until blended. Add in vanilla and egg and beat until fluffy. Mix in oats, flour, baking soda and salt. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
2. Drop dough in rounded tablespoon-globs onto ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
3. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on cookie sheet for ~2 minutes, then move cookies to cooling rack.
